Obituary for Carl Lee "Spike" Carnahan

Carl Lee “Spike” Carnahan, 67, of Young Township, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

Born November 5, 1951 in Latrobe, he was a son of the late Donald Carnahan and Ruth Ashbaugh, and was raised by Clair Cribbs of Saltsburg, and the late Mikell Elizabeth (Noel) Cribbs.

Spike was a graduate of Saltsburg High School, and lived in Young Township since 1977. He has worked as a CNC programmer at Aerotech in R.I.D.C. Park, Pittsburgh for the last several years. Spike was a member of Saltsburg Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Spike’s most loved spending time with his family, and taking care of them, especially his daughter Shelly, and his granddaughters. He will be fondly remembered by his friends and neighbors as a caring man, always willing to lend a helping hand.

In addition to Clair Cribbs, Spike is survived by his son, Christopher M. (Alyssa) Carnahan of Spring Grove, VA; daughters, Michelle L. “Shelly” Carnahan of Indiana, PA, Candace M. Scott of Cheswick; granddaughters, Adeline Lee & Louisa Mikell Carnahan, both of Spring Grove, VA; sisters, Patricia Moser of Indiana, PA, Debbie (Joe) Hill of Home, PA; brothers, Dan (Misty) Cribbs of Saltsburg, Gary (Barb) Cribbs of Delmont, Jim Libengood of Rural Valley; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg, with Pastor Dan Satler officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Saltsburg.
