Curran-Shaffer

In 1975, Gary P. Curran established the original funeral home at 322 North Second Street in downtown Apollo. In 1992, he purchased the Shaffer Funeral Home in Apollo, and simultaneously owned and operated the business along with his North Second Street location. In 1994, the new funeral home was built at its present location, 100 Owens View Avenue, along Route 56 in Kiski Township. Curran's and Shaffer's were both closed, merged, and relocated to the new facility, which was named Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home, Inc. Gary died in 2002, and the funeral home was purchased by Art Kunkle and Gary's brother, Bill Curran. In October 2004, a full service crematory was added to the funeral home, making history in both Armstrong County and the entire Kiski Valley, by being the first crematory in both regions.

Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services (Saltsburg)

Curran-Saltsburg

Formerly the Hunter Funeral Home, Gary Curran purchased the funeral home from Joe Hunter in 1992. The funeral home, located at 701 Salt Street in Saltsburg, was renamed the Curran Funeral Home. Gary died in 2002, and the funeral home was purchased by Art Kunkle and Gary's brother, Bill Curran.

Brady-Curran

Originally the Brady Funeral Home, the business was purchased by Dean Cline and was known as the Brady-Cline Funeral Home for many years. In 1998, Gary Curran purchased the Brady-Cline Funeral Home, at 429 Franklin Avenue and renamed it Brady-Curran Funeral Home, Inc. Gary died in 2002, and the funeral home was purchased by Art Kunkle and Gary's brother, Bill Curran.

Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services (Leechburg)

Curran-Leechburg

The funeral home at 260 Market Street (now Leechburg Borough Office) was purchased from Dean Cline in 1998. A new location was built at 300 Market Street and the old facility was donated by Curran's to the Leechburg Borough. Gary died in 2002, and the funeral home was purchased by Art Kunkle and Gary's brother, Bill Curran.
